SHADOW RANCH is an ART COLONY and FILM PRODUCTION COMPANY in Joshua Tree on my 100 acre property. It purchased it in the mid 1990’s. FUTURIST ADVENTURE MOVIES PRESENTATION

Prophetic visual presentation about a futurist group of

hip survivalist cream off the grid village deep in the desert. Becomes an oasis after the grid goes down.

The website has not been changed since 1999, yet the story and concepts are absolutely relevant today and prophetic in many instances. and the concepts and story turns out to be amazingly prophetic, and extremely relevant now. all take place on same property - my movie ranch in Joshua tree.

This is a photo series created at SHADOW RANCH, a 100 acre property which I purchase in Joshua Tree in the 1990’s. The colors were created by projected colored light onto the rocks.

I have been photographing Sandie Crisp since 1992, and is the subject of my upcoming photo book. She is a notorious figure in the Los Angeles underground art scene, and the strongest person I know. She’s a physically disabled pre-op transsexual, performer and MC. Sandie lives a powerful story of surviving and thriving against all odds, fighting to be who she is with dignity and humor. She introduces me as her big brother and I have helped her out of many a jam. Sandie is featured in Rock Videos including Marylyn Manson’s “Dope Show,” performed on the MTV awards, was a guest on Howard Stern, is the subject of several documentaries, magazine articles, and has been cast in Hollywood movies.

My Japanese grandfather, KUHARA FUSANOSUKE was an industrial magnate and powerful politician. He started HITACHI and NISSAN and built the 2nd largest copper mine in Japan. I knew him for the last 10 years of his long life in the twilight of his empire, when he had spent all of his money.
